• be under the impression (that ...) (~라고 생각하다)
• I was under the impression that he did not like me at all. (나는 그가 날 전혀 좋아하지 않는다고 오해했다.)
• We were under the impression that he was going to quit. (우리는 그가 그만 둘 것 같다고 생각했었다.)

 

• not bode well for ~ (~에 좋은 징조는 아니다)
• The low sales numbers do not bode well for our department. (낮은 매출액은 저희 부서에 좋은 징조가 아닙니다.)
• The scandal does not bode well for the CEO. (이 스캔들은 CEO에 좋은 징조가 아니야.)

 

• take ~ seriously (~을 진지하게 받아들이다)
• I think he took it seriously. (그가 진지하게 받아들인 것 같아.)
• Don't take the joke seriously. (농담을 너무 진지하게 받아들이지마.)
• He always takes things too seriously. (그는 항상 너무 진지해.)
